CATCHING UP WITH MINIATURES

MINIATURES LIFE DURING LOCKDOWN

(ONE OF MY NEW ROOM-BOXES)

MUSEUM OF CHILDHOOD

As I have obviously been spending my time at home during Lockdown, I have been trying to catch up with cataloguing dolls and working on miniatures.  I have ended up with three more room-boxes and another little
dolls-house.

It is difficult to decide whether to work on miniatures, do more writing (which I also really enjoy doing!), catch up with miniature knitting, up-date my website or read more of my books which are shouting out to be read!  Also, my walking group has just started up again with social distancing and no car sharing, so all in all, life is very hectic!

RIGHT HAND SIDE:  I made the bookshelf a long time ago, and also the little books on the top shelf.  I also made the little "dolls house for a dolls house",the thatched cottage complete with very tiny wooden furniture inside, a long time ago.  I also knitted the little pram cover.  The cottage measures 2.5" wide x 1.25" deep x 2" high.  To give you an idea of the size of the "furniture", each chair is less than 0.5" high.

THE "FURNITURE" I MADE MYSELF
(for inside the cottage).

LEFT HAND SIDE:  The little pram was stuck on one side of the counter in a Charity Shop about twelve months ago.  It was absolutely filthy!  The white hood was black with dirt, and it was going to be thrown out.  The lady behind the counter said I could have it free, if I could "do anything with it".  I brought it home and soaked the whole thing in very hot soapy water for four days.  I think you will agree that it is now looking presentable!  I knitted the little pram cover with no.80 crochet cotton, and added on some little satin bows.  The pram is probably C.1970's.  The little cream chair, bath and washbasin are all Kleeware.
