Just a couple of photos from one of my recent walks for which I will be leading, shortly..

It was a lovely, but extremely muddy walk of just 6.5 miles.  It was also very cold with some snow on the hills around Mid Wales (but not where we were at the time).  We ended up in mud over the tops of our boots, and at one point it went up to our calves.  I didn't think to photograph that as I was so busy trying to pull my feet out of the mud, at the same time as trying to remain in a vertical position!  It was good fun!!

Another new year ahead of us!  I don't usually make  New Year resolutions, as I never seem to keep them longer than a couple of weeks!  But this year I am making a resolution to blog more often!  Time has just run away with me this year, as I have given so many Talks about dolls to various groups, and I have also become more involved in other things too, but dolls, as always, are my TOP PRIORITY!!  Hopefully I will be able to do more blogs this year!

DOLLS FROM INDIA, BULGARIA and ENGLAND

Today I am listing dolls from INDIA,  BULGARIA, and ENGLAND.
The Indian Gujarati dolls are among my top favourites.  I absolutely ADORE them!  The colours, the painted Mendi patterns on their bodies and their jewellery are just SO beautiful!
Of course, dolls are all beautiful, but I just love Indian dolls in particular, especially the Gujarati dolls.
Having said that, I must get on and show them to you!!
The Bulgarian dolls are also very interesting.  They are what I call "action dolls", and I am also very fond of dolls which are "doing something!".  The Russian Cossack doll has a beautiful character face.  It is a lovely character doll.  I hope you will enjoy seeing them as much as I do.

MY VISIT TO GREECE (Santorini), and a Greek doll

I have recently returned from SANTORINI, a beautiful island in the group of Cyclades, in the Aegean Sea.
As I already have quite a few Greek dolls in Greek costumes, I was unable to find anything any different, but I found this delightful mythological character.  You can see more information about her on my website.

DOLLS FROM IRAQ

Today I am listing a group of hand made dolls from IRAQ.
They are all dressed in various regions of the country.  (The previous owner purchased them in Iraq, in 1967).
There are five pairs of dolls, and one male Sayed doll.
They represent:  Arab Bedouins, Assyrian Tiari Tribe, Kurdish, Armenian, Kurdish (Sulamaniya) and a Sayed doll.
