A note about miniature bunka mats:

Bunka mats are SO quick and easy to make.  Bunka is simply unravelled fringing, so you can use up any scraps of leftover pieces of fringing.  Just cut up into short lengths, pull the ends to "frizzle" them out and glue onto the canvas (or felt) using any good fabric glue.  Just use a piece of scrap dowelling or similar to press the pieces randomly onto the fabric.  Just simply do your own pattern as you go along.   I made the runner (in the centre) by working half-crossstitch to my own design and using one-ply wool on fine canvas.
