Thank you for all your support throughout the year. It is very much appreciated!  Let us hope that 2021 will be a better year for us all.

Next year I am hoping to be able to spend more time on my website.  Until now, I have been committed to other things, but now I will hopefully have more time to spend on my website.
Have a very enjoyable Christmas, and a happy and healthy New Year!

CRETAN CRAFTS

This is my latest little Market Stall which I have made.  I have based it on the Greek Island of Crete. The doll is a ready made, ready dressed little doll, which is a perfect size.
For this Stall I have used old un-used handkerchiefs, which are of course, already embroidered, and some have dainty lace edging.  They have made ideal little tablecloths etc.

CRETAN CRAFTS MAKET STALL

CRETAN CRAFTS

(A market stall)

Here is another little market stall which I have enjoyed working on.

I have been working on miniatures since we have all been under certain restrictions due to Coronavirus.
This is just a quick, simple one which I have worked on.  I had the idea for this one since seeing lots of beautiful market stalls some years ago, on the Greek Island of Crete (and other countries), selling lovely handmade tablecloths and doyleys etc.
For this "quick-to-make" stall, I have used ready-made tablecloths, by cutting them up out of unused handkerchiefs, and motifs which can be bought by the yard and cut off individually, to make little doyleys.
The lady "running the stall" is a "bought" doll, and I have left her dressed as she was, as I think she is quite suitable.

I still have some costume dolls to list here, and will hopefully find the time to do it soon!

I hope you are all keeping safe and well!

ENGLAND. Meet Royston.

MEET ROYSTON

ENGLAND

Website Id:  (Europe - England - 0092 and 0092A)

This delightful doll was possibly made in England, C. late 1940's.  I have dressed him in a vintage cardigan, vintage shoes and vintage socks.  I knitted his trousers, which looks like a complicated pattern to knit, but it was easy!  That is because the same ball of wool follows on with all these colours, so it was not complicated at all.  I was expecting the second leg to be awkward trying to get the pattern to line up with the first, but it wasn't!  I just had to run through the wool until all the colours lined up with the first leg, and start from there!

For more information about the doll, and another photograph, please see the website (www.worldcostumedolls.com).
Just go to the website, click on the Inventory Box and put the Code No. in, and the doll will come up.
Thank you.

"SEAGULLS NEST"

"SEAGULLS NEST"

(A seaside market stall)

Here is another little market stall which I have just finished working on.  I purchased the stall in kit form, painted it, and filled it with the items you see here.

It is a seaside market stall.  On it I have put lots of little items which I have collected over time.  I just made the kites, sticks of rock in boxes, and a few other bits and pieces.

The lady was a ready-made dolls house doll, but I re-dressed her.  The little boy was also a dolls house doll, and I left him clothed as he was.

KEEP SAFE AND WELL.

Carole
